The low cost airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) has introduced COVID Protect, its latest Covid-19 Insurance add-on for passengers, to provide travelers with peace of mind while flying during this period of coronavirus pandemic.

The upgrade, which will cover COVID-related   treatments and hospitalizations, is timely as the airline’s goal is to prioritize the health and safety of each passenger, thereby providing more options for passengers.

According to Cebu Pacific, with COVID Protect, travelers who test positive for the Covid-19 can receive coverage up to PHP 1 million for treatments, hospitalization and medical expenses. All passengers on all flights to and from CEB’s domestic and international destinations can enjoy this upgraded service of the CEB TravelSure, at a price as low as PHP 270.

CEB TravelSure is the carrier’s comprehensive travel insurance plan which provides extensive travel protection, covering expenses related to illness, injury,  loss of personal belongings, travel cancellation, emergency assistance and other unexpected travel situations, subject to terms and conditions.

Cebu Pacific’s TravelSure COVID Protect is underwritten by a Chubb company – North America Insurance Company. Chubb is the leading publicly traded property and casualty insurance company in the world.

Under the COVID Protect, the coverage starts from the date of departure and ends 2 hours after arriving back at the place of departure, along with a travel period of up to 30 consecutive days.

Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience at the airline, has stated, “We are very pleased to launch the CEB TravelSure COVID Protect in line with our commitment to restart travel and tourism safely and sustainably. With COVID Protect, guests will be able to travel more confidently as they are assured of coverage, especially if they have essential travel scheduled.”

Passengers can easily benefit from this offer at the time when they book a flight on the website of the airline. In case, passengers who have already booked their flight can also purchase the COVID Protect add-on up to two hours before their departure through the ‘Manage Booking’ portal on the Cebu Pacific’s official website – www.cebupacificair.com.
