The national carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched September Deals promotion on Monday (Sept 14) and is offering low air fares with an aim to boost air travel demand in the next ten months.

Cielo Villaluna, Philippine Airlines spokesperson, has said in his statement, “With this latest offering from Philippine Airlines, we hope to stimulate demand and boost travel during the 4th quarter of this year and first half of 2021. As we look forward to a more promising outlook for the industry in 2021, we will continue to carry out similar initiatives.”

As per the ‘September Deals’ promotion, passengers will be able to get the one-way base fare as low as PHP 688 for domestic travel and round-trip base fare as US $99 (PHP 4,800) for international travel, subject to availability of seats.

Passengers can book their air tickets at these promotional fares from September 14 to September 20, for travel during the seven months from November 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021.

The Philippine Airlines campaign invites travelers to once again “enjoy the low fares and safe travels with the Heart of the Filipino”, whether they are travelling home to reunite with their loved ones, conducting an important business trips or planning a long overdue vacations.

For more flexibility, the carrier may allow passengers to make a request 7 days before the date of departure for rebooking or reschedule without any charges on the same booking class.

In order to protect its passengers and working staff, the airline said it has been implemented safety protocol that includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for crew members, enhanced disinfection and the use of HEPA filters to clean viruses and bacteria in the cabin air.

With the gradual opening of the economy, the carrier’s initiative is consistent with the efforts to support the livelihoods of businesses and communities in the country, while always ensuring that strict safeguards are taken to protect the health of all passengers.

Philippines had imposed a nation-wide lockdown and suspended all domestic and international passenger flights in March for almost 3 months, in a bid to limit the spread and importation of COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Later, the government allowed domestic flights to resume their operations from June 1.

In regard to COVID-19 transmission in Philippines, the country has reported a total number of 2,72,934 confirmed cases which are under treatment and 4,732 patients have lost their lives due to virus. However, 2,07,858 patients who tested positive to COVID-19 have completely recovered from the virus, as of Thursday (Sept 17).
