On Friday (Aug 28), the flag carrier Royal Brunei Airlines won the award for Best Flag Carrier Financial Management Team Southeast Asia 2020 by Capital Finance International  (CFI.co) that is a print journal and online resource reporting on business, finance and economics.

When health and safety measures grounded almost 95% of the international flights, Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) became creative and began to book private charter flights. With its perseverance, originality and impressive financial significance, the CFI.co judging panel awarded RB with this award.

The carrier and CFI.co said in a joint statement that one of the key points of the report from the panel of the judges was that they all were impressed by the active promotion of RB in the Brunei hub, including the biodiversity rainforest reserve and the famous golden-domed mosques.

In addition, the carrier also offers regular flights across the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. There are more than 30 destinations in its network, including Dubai, London, Melbourne and Tokyo. The code sharing and intermodal agreements consist of more destinations.

The judges also noted the 5-star APEX and 4-star Skytrax ratings of the airlines. These ratings are in line with the airline which is known for its service and warm Bruneian hospitality. This boutique airline has earned a well-known name in the tourism industry.

The judges emphasized that RB also supports the growth and productivity goals of many companies in various industries. “The CFI.co judging panel was impressed by the financial management skills that are underpinning this airline’s progress,” added in the statement.

Meanwhile, RB added a new ranking on July 28 this year based on the evaluation by global travelers this year and won the annual Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Awards-Regional.

CFI.co looks every year for individuals and organizations that promote economic integration and truly add value for stakeholders. The Award Program aims to discover and reward the excellence. The plan is to motivate others to further improve their performance.
