Philippines gets Record 15 Nominations at World Travel Awards 2020

The 27th World Travel Awards, which is popular as the Travel Oscar, will not let the economic downturn hinder recognition of the best participants in all key sectors of the global tourism industry. Recently, the prestigious award-giving body has released a list of 2020 nominees for different categories this year. Philippines gets Record 15 Nominations at World Travel Awards 2020

The Philippine tourism industry received the following 5 major nominations:

  1. Philippines – Asia’s Leading Beach Destination
  2. Philippines – Asia’s Leading Dive Destination
  3. Cebu – Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination
  4. Department of Tourism (DOT) – Asia’s Leading Tourist Board
  5. The Walled City of Intramuros – Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction

At the same time, excitement is brewing in the country’s hospitality industry, as the country’s 10 hotels have earned the mark of excellence through their respective categories. The nominees are:

  1. Abaca Boutique Resort in Mactan Island, Cebu as Asia’s Leading Boutique
  2. Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila as Asia’s Leading Serviced Apartments
  3. Beach Resort and Asia’s Leading Boutique Resort
  4. City of Dreams Manila as Asia’s Leading Casino Resort
  5. City of Dreams Manila as Asia’s Leading Fully Integrated Resort
  6. Discovery Primea Philippines as Asia’s Leading Business Hotel
  7. Luxury island resort Amanpulo in Palawan as Asia’s Leading Family Villa Resort
  8. Luxury island resort Amanpulo in Palawan as Asia’s Leading Private Island Resort
  9. Raffles Makati Residences as Asia’s Leading Hotel Residences
  10. The Farm at San Benito in Batangas as Asia’s Leading Retreat
