The local airlines Thai Air Asia and Thai VietJet Air have begun to flex their domestic routes and add other new routes as there are many people waiting to return to their desired destinations across Thailand.

Thai Air Asia is operating its flights on two new routes from Chiang Mai and Udon Thani in the northeast to Hua Hin, offering a one-way fare as low as 790 baht. The special ticket price will last until August 16 or until full reservation. The fare will cover travel from today to March 26 next year.

The carrier is trying to increase direct domestic flights from Chiang Mai to avoid stop-over in Bangkok for these new routes. The target travelers of the new flight from Chiang Mai to the coastal city of Hua Hin are Thai nationals and foreigners living in the north who want to rest by the sea but don’t want to spend 24 hours on the bus.

The two weekly flights are departing every Friday and Sunday, which provide travelers on both ends of the route with an excuse for weekend trips. Thai Air Asia is currently serving 30 domestic routes. These routes were re-launched in May when Thai-registered airlines resumed limited domestic route services.

At the same time, another local airline Thai VietJet Air has also started to provide a new flight service from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to Nakhon Si Thammarat in Deep South of Thailand.

The first flight landed over the weekend to a water salute welcome at Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport. Thai Vietjet’s latest flight to southern Thailand is operating daily, but they hope to add up to 4 flights a day in October this year.

The promotional fare of 199 baht (excluding taxes and fees) are available on the carrier’s official website www.vietjetair.com.
