On Wednesday (June 17), the low cost carrier Air Asia India launched “FlyPorter” its door-to-door baggage service for passengers at New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The carrier said, “An industry first, the door to door baggage delivery service FlyPorter will be picking the baggage from the guests’ home and delivering at their doorstep.”

Under “Air Asia FlyPorter” service the baggage will be picked up from the traveler’s address in the city of departure and delivered to the address in the destination city. Under introductory offer passengers have to pay an inviting price of Rs. 500 for availing this service for one way trip and Rs. 1000 for round trip.

The carrier has decided to launch this service in a bid to limit the risk of COVID-19 transmission during the journey and to allow passengers to travel light amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per the statement from Air Asia India, passengers will feel more safe while they travel as Air Asia FlyPorter will provide a touch-less and contact less check-in and boarding at the airport. The FlyPorter service now introduces a more safe, stringent and hassle free way to transport passenger’s baggage as well.

After being suspended for nearly two months due to nationwide lockdown, India has resumed skeleton operations of its scheduled domestic flights since May 25 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In regards to COVID-19 transmission, India is at fourth position in the list of all the countries in the world affected by COVID-19 and has reported 3,67,963 confirmed cases & 12,272 patients have lost their lives. However, 1,94,565 patients tested positive to COVID-19 have recovered, as of Thursday (June 18).
